Every winter, the Plaça Major in Olot becomes a meeting place with the installation of the ice rink, one of the most anticipated activities of the Olot Temps de Nadal program. Open to young and old, it allows you to enjoy skating in the heart of the historic center. In addition to the sessions open to the public, there are school activities and special offers for families, making it a key point of dynamism during the holidays.
During the Christmas holidays, Joanetes hosts one of the most emblematic living nativity scenes in La Garrotxa. The route, with more than forty scenes, shows traditional crafts and moments from the birth of Jesus in an incomparable natural environment, at the foot of Puigsacalm. With hundreds of participants, animals and great involvement from the people, the nativity scene offers an immersive, emotional experience and is ideal for visiting with the family.
The Olot Carnival is one of the liveliest winter festivals in La Garrotxa. For several days, the city is filled with groups, floats and parades that travel through the streets with music and good humor. The costume contest, cultural shows, dances and family activities make the carnival a participatory and joyful celebration, where tradition and fun coexist in a very special festive atmosphere.
